Sabinsa's parent company, Sami-Sabinsa Group, inaugurated a new state-of-the-art greenfield manufacturing facility at Hassan in the State of Karnataka (India) on 17 March 2023. Dr Muhammed Majeed, Chairman and Founder, Sami-Sabinsa Group, inaugurated Unit-1 of the facility, Sami Nutraceuticals and senior executives attended. The unit, which sprawls over an area of 10 acres, is the eighth manufacturing facility of the company.
The facility, built with an investment of US $18 million, has capacity to produce 88 tons of Active Nutraceutical Ingredients (ANI) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) per annum for the global market. The Unit-I of the facility will produce 23 different Active Nutraceutical Ingredients (ANI) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) & intermediates, including Calebin-A, Resveratrol, SabiWhite, Pterostilbene, Cosmoperine, 1, 2- Hexanediol, 1,2-Octanediol, Diindolylmethane (DIM), lndole-3-Carbinol, Ferulic Acid, Urolithins etc. This world-class manufacturing facility is equipped with 18 reactors (including 8 glass-line reactors), two hydrogenators, and other specialised equipment such as agitated nutsche filter dryers (ANFD), centrifuges, and Rotocone Vacuum Dryers.

Sami Nutraceuticals houses sophisticated, fully equipped quality control and process development labs. An important feature of this new facility is its Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) capability, which minimises the production-associated ecological footprint. The facility has a clear location advantage and easy access to ports on the east and west coasts of India.
The new facility will provide employment opportunities to more than 200 workers, both directly and indirectly. Unit II of the facility is nearing completion and is being built on 15 acres of land. It will house three production blocks: one for curcumin production and two for multi-purpose herbal extracts.
