HBI Thompson & Capper new solar panels supplying renewable energy to Runcorn based manufacturing facilities

HBI Thompson & Capper are excited to announce, “The Big Solar Switch-On", which will be taking place at their manufacturing facility in Runcorn, Cheshire, on 21st February 2025. Having invested £1,000,000 into solar technology, the business will be connecting the first phase of its impressive new array of more than 900 solar panels, which will generate around 724 MWh of energy, accounting for around 30% of the business' total annual requirements and helping to offset its energy demands from the national grid - the equivalent energy usage of around 268 homes per annum.

The company has had a continuous presence in Runcorn since they relocated across the River Mersey, from Speke, in 1976. This latest development by Thompson & Capper, forms part of the groups wider drive to minimise its environmental impact on the local area - employing more than 350 residents from across Cheshire, Thompson & Capper, are dedicated to becoming the most sustainable contract manufacturer in the world, supporting their already impressive commitment to using only renewable energy in the manufacturing of their goods and services.
