Thai Union Ingredients will be showcasing its marine longevity portfolio at this week's Vitafoods Asia show, taking place 2-4 September.
On display from the company's vertically integrated portfolio will be ingredients such as DHA oil, collagen and bio calcium.
The firm said these were aimed at addressing cognitive, skin and bone needs across different stages of life, with proven results backed by human trials.
Unlike other longevity supplement brands that generally work with separate suppliers and supply chains, Thai Union Ingredients — the marine ingredients business of Thai Union Group PCL — manufactures its integrated healthy ageing solutions through a proprietary model that extends from tuna sourcing to factories, refineries and finished ingredients.
This enables end-to-end traceability and direct quality control at every stage of production.
The firm said that its portfolio is entering the market as Asia-Pacific prepares for significant demographic change.
The number of people aged 60 and above in the region is expected to triple between 2010 and 2050, approaching 1.3 billion, according to the United Nations Population Fund.
By then, one in four people in the region will be aged 60 or older.
However, demand for longevity products already extends across generations. Thai Union cited a 2025 McKinsey survey that found that up to 60% of consumers viewed healthy ageing as a top or very important priority, with younger generations increasingly taking a proactive approach.
Leena Uabumrungjit, Senior Director, Ingredients at Thai Union Group, said: “The longevity market is crowded with suppliers that offer select ingredients but not a one-stop solution."
Thai Union Ingredients is taking a different approach. We combine cognition, skin and bone health solutions through a fully integrated marine platform built on a tuna supply chain we control from start to finish.
"Together with published research developed alongside leading universities, that gives our customers something increasingly rare in the market: traceability, scientific validation and multiple health solutions from one trusted source."
On display at Vitafoods Asia will be the following innovations from the company:
- UniQ OMEGA: Supports cognitive performance with refined tuna DHA oil. A 2025 human study, published in the journal Antioxidants, recorded a 42% improvement in attention and 33% in working memory
- ThalaCol: Supports skin health with tuna collagen peptides. A 2024 study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that five grams daily improved skin hydration by 68%, density by 26%, and elasticity by 16%
- UniQ BONE: This product provides calcium and phosphorus in a 2-to-1 ratio using tuna bio-calcium in hydroxyapatite form, similar to what is found in human bones and teeth. A 2017 study in the Journal of Science of Food and Agriculture showed a 39% improvement in bone microstructure.
The company stressed the ingredients' sustainability, saying each comes from parts of the fish most processors cannot use: the head, the skin and the bone.
All three are co-products of tuna Thai Union already handles for food, converted into ingredients at specialised facilities that include an oil refinery in Germany, a collagen factory in Samut Sakorn and a bone powder facility in southern Thailand.
Thai Union said that creating new applications for parts of the tuna not used in conventional food production supported its SeaChange 2030 sustainability strategy and its ambition to become the "world’s leading marine health and nutrition company."
