The award was presented as part of Ayush Mela, one of India’s largest exhibition and conference events related to Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH).
ASSOCHAM received more than 150 nominations across 34 categories of awards covering various fields of AYUSH, out of which 75 nominations were short listed across different categories. The awardees were selected by a jury of prominent people affiliated with the AYUSH fields.
“I am honoured to receive this lifetime achievement award from ASSOCHAM,” said Sabinsa Founder and Chairman Dr Muhammed Majeed. “This recognition that my life’s work facilitating research to support and improve human health, ensuring that sourcing for raw materials benefits the small farmers and their communities, and discovering ways to benefit humanity by building upon ancient knowledge is deeply meaningful.”
