That's not an accident. Vitality and stress and sleep support are two of the categories moving fastest across Asian and global markets right now, and we happen to have a clinically backed answer for each.
Vitality, and stress and sleep support, are two of the fastest-moving categories in EU supplement and functional food development right now. What we heard in Bangkok is effectively a preview of the same formulation briefs already landing on European desks, so here's what stood out, and what it means for buyers formulating for the EU.
AktiveX: The vitality conversation
Formulators kept coming to the stand asking the same underlying question, in different words: what actually works for energy and performance without relying on stimulants or synthetic actives. AktiveX kept coming up as the answer. Built on a clinically studied Ayurvedic formulation and positioned at the meeting point of ancient wisdom and modern science, it's resonating with brand owners who want a vitality ingredient with a credible trial behind it, not just a trend claim.
The questions we fielded were the ones that tell you a conversation is going somewhere real: recommended dosing, format flexibility, regulatory status market by market. That's formulation-stage interest, not badge-scan interest.
Ocitum: The stress and sleep conversation
Right alongside it, Ocitum drew its own steady stream of interest. Built on Tulsi (Holy Basil), a botanical with centuries of standing in Ayurvedic tradition, Ocitum is backed by clinical data on cortisol reduction, DASS-21 improvement and faster sleep onset, exactly the kind of stress-and-sleep story that formulators across the region are actively building pipelines around. Stress support and sleep support are converging into a single formulation brief for a lot of brands right now, and Ocitum was built to answer both at once.
But the point that formulators in Bangkok kept coming back to, unprompted, was Ocitum's non-habit-forming profile. In a category where consumers are actively trying to move away from dependency-prone options, with next-day grogginess, melatonin at doses under mounting scrutiny across European markets, that's not a footnote. It's the specific gap European brand owners have been asking us how to close: something people can take nightly, without tolerance build-up, without a withdrawal conversation, and without the regulatory caution that shadows habit-forming actives. Ocitum answers that directly, and it's fast becoming the reason formulators choose it over the alternatives already sitting in their portfolio.
What's next: Women's health and gut health are coming
We also used Bangkok to open a different conversation, one about what's next. K. Patel Phyto is developing new branded ingredients in Women's Health and Gut Health, extending our portfolio beyond vitality and stress and sleep support into two categories our European customers keep telling us they need better, more differentiated options in.
More on both soon. If you're formulating in either space for the EU market and want to be among the first to see what we're building, this is a good time to start that conversation with us.
Let's keep talking
Vitafoods Asia may have happened on the other side of the world, but the categories it confirmed, vitality, stress and sleep, and soon women's health and gut health, are the same ones defining Europe’s formulation right now. Whether you're exploring AktiveX, Ocitum, or want an early look at what's coming next, reach out and let's talk about where our branded ingredients fit in your pipeline.
