The effect of Memophenol on memory has been recognised with an authorised health claim by the South Korean Ministry of Food & Drug Safety (MFDS), formerly known as KFDA.
An ingredient developed by Activ’Inside, Memophenol is a patented formulation of grape and blueberry polyphenols, and a promising memory booster to prevent the age-related cognitive decline on seniors and to enhance cognitive performance for students.
"This is a positive conclusion to several years of clinical research and it proves the efficacy of Memophenol on memory," said Benoit Lemaire, CEO and Business and marketing VP of Activ’Inside.
Lemaire continued: "We are confident that this positive scientific opinion will allow wider applications of our ingredient in health supplements as we believe cognitive performance is and will remain a major concern worldwide".
Memophenol: The anti-ageing complex that acts on memory
The anti-ageing effect of Memophenol on senior memory is shown in a first randomised, bicentric, double-blind placebo-controlled clinical study where 215 healthy seniors, from 60 to 70 years old were supplemented with 600mg of Memophenol or placebo during six months.
Memophenol supplementation significantly improves short-term memory and reverts cognitive age by up to a decade. The Memophenol clinical study on seniors is available online.
A second randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover clinical study on 30 healthy University students between 18 and 25 years old, who consumed 600 mg of Memophenol or placebo in a single dose shows that Memophenol supplementation enhances cognitive performance by 36% on students in exam-like conditions after only 90 minutes (compared to the placebo group). The Antioxidant journal publication is available online.
