Gender equity non-profit Women In Nutraceuticals (WIN) has had a successful inaugural WIN Leadership Summit April 25 – 26, 2025 at the Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona.
On the eve of the event the WIN board of directors swore in the recently elected members and a new Executive Committee.
The Summit began Friday afternoon with a choice of optional activities (golf driving range, desert garden walk, or a service opportunity to benefit Gathering Humanity) followed by an enjoyable networking reception.
Saturday after breakfast, Lise Aslchuler ND, the incoming president of Sonoran University, inspired the group to enter a state of flow in leadership with her Keynote speech: Free to Flow. Among other highlights were a panel discussion with speakers Karin Hermoni PhD, Katie Banaszewski PhD, Susan Mitmesser PhD, Nima Alamdari PhD, and Nora Khaldi PhD. Breaking the Lab Ceiling: Empowering Female Scientists for Leadership and C-Suite Advancement.
Additional sessions covered inclusive leadership, developing your personal brand, adopting a mentorship mentality and plenty of time for networking among the 125 attendees. Amin Wasserman Gurnani’s Rend Al-Mondhiry, who is also chair of WIN’s advisory board, moderated the day.
WIN President Heather Granato summed up the positive feedback from the group: “Our first stand-alone summit underscored the power of community. From the powerful sessions with tactical takeaways to the chance to catch up with industry friends and colleagues— and make new ones—it was a valuable experience that we hope will accelerate positive change!”
The Summit was sponsored by Nice Insights.
Ahead of the Summit re-elected board members Heather Granato (Nutrachievement) and Karen Todd RD (Kyowa Hakko) and newly elected board members Sybille Buchwald-Werner PhD (Newday) and Michelle Martin (Cypress Minerals) were sworn in.
