TruShield launches supplement verification app as CleanForm Nutrition secures certification

The new TruShield Certification App allows consumers and healthcare professionals to verify certified supplements, as demand for greater transparency and third-party testing continues to ramp up across the sports nutrition sector

As demand for greater transparency and third-party verification continues to grow across the sports nutrition and dietary supplement market, TruShield has announced the launch of a mobile app designed to help consumers, athletes and healthcare professionals verify certified products.

The new TruShield Certification App allows users to quickly confirm whether a finished product or nutritional ingredient has earned the TruShield Certified mark.

The platform also provides greater visibility into the certification process, which includes banned substance testing, label claim verification against the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and validation of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification.

TruShield says its certification programme screens products for more than 480 prohibited compounds, including anabolic agents, stimulants, selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) and diuretics.

The programme is designed to help reduce the risk of inadvertent exposure to banned substances while providing athletes, practitioners, retailers and consumers with greater confidence in certified supplements.

The launch comes at a time when the industry is focused on quality assurance and supply chain transparency, particularly as the global sports nutrition market continues to expand and brands face increasing expectations around ingredient quality, manufacturing standards and product integrity.

Independent certification has become an increasingly important differentiator for companies supplying elite athletes and performance-focused consumers, where even trace contamination can have significant consequences.

Among the latest products to receive certification are CleanForm Nutrition's goBHB Energy Shots, which are formulated with L-goBHB exogenous ketone technology and contain no caffeine or added sugar.

Available in Apple, Blue Raspberry and Wild Berry flavours, the products are designed to offer an alternative to traditional stimulant-based energy shots.

"As sports nutrition and functional products continue to evolve, athletes and active consumers need confidence that the products they use have been independently verified," said Dr Lori Bestervelt, Senior Vice President of Certification Services at TruShield.

TruShield Certification represents one of the highest standards of product integrity and gives brands the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to helping protect athletes, consumers and brand reputation through comprehensive banned substance testing, GMP verification and label claim confirmation.

Mike Cernovich, founder of CleanForm Nutrition, added: "We created goBHB Energy Shots because we believed athletes and active consumers deserved a clean energy option without relying on caffeine, sugar or unnecessary stimulants."

Earning TruShield Certification reinforces that commitment and gives our customers confidence that our products have been independently tested for more than 480 banned substances.

The new app is intended to complement the certification programme by providing a simple way for users to verify certified products before purchasing, recommending, or using them, reinforcing transparency across the performance nutrition and dietary supplements market.
