Synergy opens US savoury centre to support flavour innovation

The expert in flavours and extracts has opened a new centre at its US headquarters in Illinois, including concentrated flavours for its patented protein bar

Supplier of flavours and extracts Synergy Flavors has announced it has opened a new savoury innovation centre close to Wauconda, Illinois - its US headquarters. 

Speaking about the new centre, VP of R&D and Innovation at Synergy Flavors, Mike Brown said: “We look forward to hosting all of our customers in the near future at our state-of-the-art facility for tasting and innovation sessions.”

The new centre features a sizeable 12,500 sqft interior, including space for flavour development and laboratories, where Synergy’s customers will be able to work alongside the company’s technical team and a state-of-the-art applications lab that replicates commercial kitchens and processing conditions.

Elsewhere, the facility is set to offer a pilot plant that features a spray dryer, flavour reactors, vacuum drying and retort capabilities. 

Brown continued: “The savoury innovation centre has been operational for months, and we have seen tremendous interest from our customers to tour the facility and work alongside our team in the culinary demonstration kitchen.”

This comes after the company launched its range of high-impact, concentrated flavours for protein bars, to expand its sports nutrition offering.
