The agricultural tech company has reached Safe Quality Food Level II certification for its manufacturing facility in Kentucky

RedLeaf Biologics, an agricultural technology company focused on producing high-value botanical extracts from red sorghum biomass, has successfully received SQF (Safe Quality Food) Level II certification for its manufacturing facility in Georgetown, KY.

The SQF Program is administered by FMI, The Food Industry Association in the United States and is benchmarked to the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), a global collection of standards and requirements for food companies to practice food safety management at the same high-quality standards around the world. SQF is recognised by retailers and regulatory agencies around the world who require a rigorous, credible food safety management system.

SQF certification both validates prior efforts and benchmarks current quality standards

“Achieving this certification is an important milestone as we begin commercial-scale production at our new facility,” said RedLeaf Quality Manager Melissa Turner. “Operational excellence requires a commitment to safety and quality—SQF certification both validates prior efforts and benchmarks current quality standards.”

RedLeaf extracts are derived from a proprietary, non-GMO sorghum varietal, called RedNatural, are produced without harsh solvents, and are free from additives or carriers.

RedLeaf’s products are delivered across the dietary supplement, cosmetic and food & beverage applications, and are certified vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and halal.

“Product safety and quality are our top priority,” said Jordan Wood, CEO of RedLeaf. “We are proud of this achievement and pleased to be able to pass along confidence in our manufacturing process to our customers.”
