In a bid to expand its global footprint, nutraceutical distribution powerhouse Prinova has acquired Aplinova.
The Brazilian functional ingredient distributor was founded in 1987, and has been providing specialty ingredients to the food & beverage, supplement and personal care markets — with the company experiencing a strong period of growth during the past five years.
This follows Prinova's choice to acquire the Brazilian flavour house, Flavor Tec, as well as international distribution organisation, The Ingredient House.
Through this acquisition, the wholly owned subsidiary of the NAGASE Group, Prinova, will extend its footprint in the key LATAM region, which the company regards as a fast-growing market for supplements and functional foods alike.
Prinova's customers will also have access to Aplinova's technical expertise and specialist knowledge in both natural flavours and sugar reduction.
Aplinova has recently opened a new Innovation Centre in Jundiaí, which houses R&D specialists focused on the above areas.
