Founded in Marseille in 1895, Nexira has since become the world leader in acacia and natural plant-based ingredients.
This year, the company is celebrating 130 years of innovation, passion and growth, while remaining true to its family values and independence.
It is a milestone that marks the beginning of a new chapter in accelerating the group's international breadth and strengthening its position as a leader in the B2B market for natural ingredients, particularly in light of the upcoming Fi Europe trade show, held in Paris from December 2 to 4, 2025.
The company now offers hundreds of natural ingredients sourced from a wide variety of botanicals (acacia, acerola, baobab, cactus, cranberry, carob, guarana, olive, etc.) for the food, health, nutrition, dietary supplements and cosmetics industries.
Built on Growth and Innovation
Nexira has grown in part thanks to the discovery and promotion of the unique properties of acacia gum, which is now indispensable in the food, nutrition and health industries.
Since 1976, the establishment of its Rouen facility and the creation of its ultra-modern Serqueux site have enabled Nexira to become the world's leading producer, manufacturing more than 100 tons of natural ingredients every day.
The company has strengthened its position in recent years through several other strategic acquisitions, enabling it to diversify its product ranges and expand its global network, while maintaining a pioneering stance in innovation and research.
In 2022, the FDA recognised acacia gum as a ‘dietary fibre’, validating Nexira’s scientific approach, as well as the Group’s expertise in international markets.
A concrete CSR commitment, embedded in the group’s DNA
For more than two decades, Nexira has placed corporate responsibility at the core of its strategy.
The Group is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact and a member of leading accountability platforms such as SEDEX, EcoVadis and CDP, ensuring an ethical and transparent approach across all its value chains.
Nexira’s action is structured around the following three key pillars:
- Development of sustainable supply chains: securing raw-material sourcing, supporting local producers and advancing responsible agricultural practices
- Reduction of environmental footprint: a 9% decrease in CO2 emissions per ton produced since 2019
- Acacia Programme: a long-standing partnership with the NGO SOS SAHEL to safeguard the resource, combat deforestation, restore biodiversity and strengthen economic and social development in the Sahel: delivering 60,000 tons of CO2 sequestered each year, engaging 200 villages and targeting 20,000 hectares of reforested land by 2030.
Nexira is extending this commitment through its support, together with SOS SAHEL, for Arbres de Vie (Trees of Life), an artistic exhibition by photographer Nicolas Henry.
Shown in open-air installations in Paris for the 2025 PhotoClimat Biennale and later in Rouen, the series portrays the nourishing trees of Sahel and Tunisia and the communities that rely on them.
It offers a visual narrative of the ecosystems that sustain Nexira’s botanical supply chains and the work carried out to protect them.
A promising outlook
With €212 million in revenue in 2025 and an annual growth nearing 15% since 2020, Nexira continues to demonstrate the strength of a model built on passion, innovation and long-term commitment.
The Group intends to carry this momentum forward, maintaining its pioneering role in delivering healthy and responsible natural solutions for future generations and strengthening its position as a reference leader in plant-based ingredients for professionals worldwide.
Nexira at Fi Europe 2025
To conclude this anniversary year, marked by a private celebration at Paris’ Modern Art Museum alongside many partners, Nexira will take part in Food Ingredients Europe (FiE) 2025, starting December 2 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
Located directly at the entrance of the fair, the Nexira booth will feature a welcoming “Pitch & Coffee” space designed for exchange and insight into the latest trends in botanical innovation.
Visitors will be invited to discover the company’s 2025 product launches, with a focus on three key areas: carob, valued for its natural texturising properties, acacia fibre and a broad range of other plant-based solutions for health and beauty applications.
