Nuritas to showcase heat-stable peptide hydrolysates at IFT FIRST

PeptiStrong and PeptiSleep demonstrate proven bioavailability across retort and UHT processing, giving formulators a commercially de-risked path to functional food integration with FDA GRAS status across 20+ countries

Dublin-based biotech Nuritas has announced it will be exhibiting at this year's IFT show in Chicago, Illinois.

The firm will showcase its portfolio of plant-based peptide hydrolysates.

“Functional benefits do not have to be confined to capsules or powder blends," said Dr Nora Khaldi, CEO and founder, Nuritas

At IFT, we are showing how our peptide hydrolysates can move into yoghurt, beverages, crisps and bakery, all while maintaining bioavailability throughout processing.

According to Nuritas, each of its peptide hydrolysates has been rigorously tested for heat, time, temperature and pH conditions that mimic real-world manufacturing, making them well-suited for modern food production.

The company said that it had demonstrated heat stability during retort and UHT beverage processing across various pH levels, enabling new opportunities for shelf-stable functional nutrition.

The following four concepts will be on display at the show:

  • Frozen yoghurt: a delicious summer treat — and social media trend — containing the muscle health supporting peptide PeptiStrong
  • RTD & RTM beverages: heat-stable formulations validated across retort and UHT processing
  • Functional snacks: savoury functional snacking concepts that move beyond conventional protein bars, such as peptide crisps and puffs
  • Bakery: bars and breakfast formats that fit naturally into consumer purchasing habits.

Nuritas added that its ingredients are designed to address the wellness concerns today’s health-conscious consumers seek: muscle health, longevity and recovery.

In addition to its muscle-health peptide PeptiStrong, the company will highlight its sleep-quality support ingredient, PeptiSleep.

Nuritas ingredients have received FDA GRAS status and Non-Novel designations in Canada and the EU, making them market-ready in more than 20 countries.

The company’s portfolio has facilitated more than 100 product launches worldwide, offering partners a commercially risk-free pathway to innovate in functional foods.
