Exhibiting on stand H74 at Vitafoods Europe, ZERIA Pharma Denmark (ZPD) will offer an insight into its range of products with a special focus on ScanDroitin, an EU-approved chondroitin sulfate.
ScanDroitin is produced exclusively by ZPD in Denmark using high quality and fully traceable food-approved raw materials of bovine origin, sourced from high-level suppliers in Denmark and the EU.
ZPD managed to obtain a food approval status from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, allowing it to serve the food and beverage, dietary supplement and nutraceutical industries in the EU with a legal and safe to consume product.
ZPD is also (EC) 2016/355 authorised and, as such, is one of the only legal sources of chondroitin sulfate for use in nutritional supplements in Europe.
The new regulation requires that chondroitin sulfate destined for use in food and beverage, dietary supplement and nutraceutical products bear an identification mark, allowing for an easy identification of the authorised manufacturing establishment.
The aim of this regulation is to further strengthen the case of food safety in Europe by securing traceability and avoid unauthorised substances of entering the food chain.
