Lubrizol expands US nutraceutical reach with Palmer Holland distribution agreement

The agreement will extend the footprint of its natural ingredient microencapsulation technology across the Northeast of the US

Supplement and functional food ingredient specialist Lubrizol has bagged a distribution partnership with US-based Palmer Holland.

Through the deal, the company will expand the availability of its nutraceutical, supplement, food and beverage ingredients across the Northeast of the US.

This follows an increase in demand for Lubrizol's bioavailability and delivery-enhancing microencapsulation technology, which is designed to improve the palatability and efficacy of the company's nutraceutical products.

According to Lubrizol, this tech is included in a vast range of its products, from mineral supplements like magnesium, zinc, calcium and iron to plant-based compounds such as phytosterols, curcumin and caffeine.

“By conducting recent clinical and consumer studies, we have affirmed the benefits of our microencapsulation technology in relation to taste and sensory profile for both LIPOFER and MAGSHAPE," noted Ricardo Pereira, Senior Director of Regional Business at Lubrizol.

"We have also confirmed the improved absorption and bioavailability of our microencapsulated ingredients, and we look forward to expanding their US reach," he added.

Palmer Holland is currently responsible for the distribution of a wide range of specialty ingredients, with one of its focus areas being health and nutrition.

The company's current portfolio includes branded nutraceuticals, sports nutrition ingredients and plant-based products, as well as functional beverags and confectionary.

"Lubrizol's focus on quality aligns with our mission to source branded ingredients designed to meet the needs of US consumers," stated VP of Consumer & Life Sciences at Palmer Holland, Bret Horace.

"With this partnership, we are addressing the needs of our customers by offering them the chance to create healthy, better-testing nutraceutical products," he concluded.
