The rosehip berry and collagen-based nutricosmetic was launched at Vitafoods 2025, and has been proven to enhance skin barrier function, hydration and elasticity

Botanical ingredient supplier Finzelberg has launched Agilirose Beauty, a new branded beauty from within ingredient.

The blend of rosehip berry and collagen was launched at this year's Vitafoods Europe, and has been clinically proven to support the skin barrier, while promoting skin hydration and elasticity.

With the global health and beauty supplements market projected to reach USD $89.3bn by 2032, Agilirose Beauty arrives at a pivotal moment for innovation in the sector.

By combining enzymatic degradation, selective membrane filtration and a gentle drying technique, Finzelberg extracts bioactives from the skin of wild-growing rosehip berries, isolating and preserving the polyphenols found within its structure.

This results in an extract with potent anti-inflammatory benefits that can support skin firmness, structure and elasticity while reinforcing the integrity of the skin barrier.1

Combined with collagen, the ingredient offers brands additional leverage in the currently booming beauty from within category, allowing them to create potent nutricosmetic formulations specifically tailored to support women's health — another rapidly growing niche.

"Agilirose Beauty has been shown to deliver measurable improvements in skin barrier function, hydration, firmness and elasticity,” stated Dr Cynthia Suarez-Rizzo, Project Manager New Product Development at Finzelberg.

“Those taking Agilirose Beauty also reported more radiant complexions, reduced dryness and a visibly healthier skin texture."

"A recent study revealed that it can trigger an 18% increase in cutaneous hydration and a 37% increase in skin density measured after 8 weeks — while nearly 90% of participants reported improved skin results after 8 weeks, added Dr Suarez-Rizzo.

The science behind rosehip's efficacy

Rosehip is highly rich in bioactive compounds such as antioxidants and therefore scavenges reactive oxygen species and thus reduces skin damage, increases moisture content and improves skin regeneration.

Previous studies have uncovered the anti-inflammatory effects of rosehip peel, which work through the reduction of cytokine release  and TNF alpha inhibition.2,3

Rosehip has also been linked to the modulation of genes expression linked to skin health, including synthesis of structural proteins of the epidermis, integrity and function of the skin barrier, anti-inflammatory function and antioxidant defense.4

Agilirose Beauty is suitable for inclusion in capsules, powders, gummies and functional beverages.

“We deliver effective results thanks to our high-performing botanical extracts and the excellent, science-based advice we offer our customers in the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industries,” says Finzelberg CEO Michael Braig. “We assure the highest quality from the field to the final product. Over our history of 150 years we have consistently proven that we can get the very best results for our customers – thanks to our innovative power and our commitment to quality. And we have had close, trusting relationships with many of our customers for several decades now.”
