Collavant n2 becomes the first type II collagen nutraceutical to be recognised by SGS Nutrasource's verification scheme

Bioiberica has become the first collagen manufacturer to have its type II collagen, Collavant n2, verified through the NutraStrong Collagen Verification programme.

Collavant n2 is a native, undenatured, GRAS type II collagen that has been proven to support joint health at 40mg/day.

By attaining Collagen Stewardship Alliance (CSA) NutraStrong Collagen Verification, Bioiberica can prove that its collagen nutraceutical meets the highest purity, source integrity, claim substantiation and manufacturing quality standards.

Developed by functional ingredient consultant SGS Nutrasource, the NutraStrong Collagen Verified programme is dedicated to evaluating the quality, identifty, safety and source of collagen ingredients — being the first independent certification system of its kind.

By securing this recognition, Collavant n2 offers supplement brands a clear point of differentiation in a crowded market, while using an ingredient from a brand that values transparency.

“Certifications like this are already well-established in categories such as omega-3s and probiotics, but this is completely new for collagen,” commented Antonio Vendrell, Marketing & Communication Director at Bioiberica.

“By achieving NutraStrong Collagen Verification, we've passed a major milestone in our mission ot bring greater credibility and clarity across the entire collagen market — which is often plagued by confusion and inconsistent standards."

"Alongside this certification, we also run educational campaigns like the Collagen Symposium, which aim to dispel confusion in the collagen market," he added.

Commenting on Bioiberica’s accomplishment, Len Monheit, Executive Director at the CSA, says: "The CSA’s mission is to foster responsible growth of the global collagen category and the Collagen Verified programme plays a vital role in this effort by recognising suppliers and brands that prioritise quality, efficacy and transparency."

"Congratulations to Bioiberica for being the first to meet this rigorous standard and helping set a new benchmark for the industry," he concluded.
