BI showcases functional beverages at IFT, Booth 4149
Marketing Director Randal Kreienbrink will also discuss IFT’s Certified Food Scientist Designation
BI Nutraceuticals will be sampling two functional beverages at the 2014 IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo being held next week (21-24 June) in New Orleans, LA, US, at Booth 4149.
Visitors will be able to taste Antioxidant Hurricane Lemonade featuring acai, green tea and pomegranate extracts, as well as beetroot powder; Greens Mint Tea containing yerba mate extract; and Greens Blend, which consists of alfalfa, barley grass, broccoli, spinach, spirulina and wheat grass powders.
Additionally, BI Marketing Director, Randal Kreienbrink, will inform visitors about IFT’s Certified Food Scientist (CFS) certification.
The CFS programme was launched last year in response to industry demand for a certification that could help differentiate individuals and their applied knowledge in food science.
Kreienbrink will highlight why this certification is important to BI and what it means for the growth of responsible, ethical and safe food ingredients.
BI supplies more than 200 natural GRAS ingredients for use in functional foods and beverages. The company has developed a comprehensive database of its GRAS ingredients segmented into 12 condition-specific, functional platforms, allowing food and beverage manufacturers to locate specific ingredients appropriate for new product development.
Additionally, BI has received SQF 2000 (Safe Quality Food) certification from NSF for its facilities in Long Beach, CA and Islandia, NY. The company is also gluten-free, kosher and halal certified.
