Ingredient supplier Aloha Medicinals has announced the launch of its new portfolio of functional mushroom solutions, FungiFuse.
The new range has been designed to address what Aloha said was "one of the [industry's] biggest challenges when it comes to mushroom ingredients" — maintaining a clean sensory experience and manufacturing efficiency.
The line will help brands formulate products "without compromising taste, colour, or mouthfeel."
The portfolio features highly soluble, neutral-flavoured mushroom ingredients that can be incorporated into a range of applications, including ready-to-drink beverages, functional shots, powdered drink mixes, bars and dietary supplements.
Aloha said the initial launch will include the following four targeted ingredient solutions designed to support fast-growing wellness categories:
- Focus: featuring Lion's Mane, Cordyceps and Chaga mushrooms, Focus is formulated to support mental clarity, cognitive performance and concentration
- Energy: a blend of Cordyceps, Shitake and Lion's Mane designed to promote clean, sustained energy and focus without the crash of traditional stimulants
- Daily: a comprehensive seven-mushroom blend rich in beta-glucans to support immune function, overall wellness and daily balance
- and Relax: combines Reishi, Maitake and Turkey Tail to support relaxation, stress balance and restorative recovery.
"The mushroom category has grown rapidly over the past few years, but there have been challenges with taste, texture and processing limitations of traditional mushroom ingredients," said Tony Nguyen, Vice President of Sales at Aloha.
FungiFuse solves those challenges and provides brands with solutions that are easy to formulate with and enjoyable to consume.
The range's ingredients will also be available in organic and non-GMO options, utilise DNA-verified mushroom ingredients and contain no carriers or fillers.
The firm said it will officially introduce FungiFuse at the IFT FIRST Annual Event & Expo. Show attendees can visit Booth #1476 to explore the new product line, sample applications and meet with Aloha's formulation experts.
