Shatavari Extract Aspargize Improves 10 of 11 Menopause Symptoms in Placebo-Controlled Study
Ennature Biopharma has announced the publication of its first menopause clinical study on Aspargize, its fast-acting Shatavari extract, in the peer-reviewed journal Natural Resources for Human Health. The 8-week trial found that Aspargize significantly improved 10 of the 11 symptoms assessed on the Menopause Rating Scale compared with placebo.
The paper, titled "Efficacy and Safety of Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) Root Extract in the Management of Menopausal Symptoms: A Multicenter, Randomised, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial," appears in Volume 6, Issue 3s, pages 257–279 [DOI].
The multicenter, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial enrolled 70 peri- and post-menopausal women aged 45-55 years across three centers in India. Participants received either Aspargize at a once-daily dose of 400 mg or placebo for eight weeks.
Compared with placebo, Aspargize:
- Reduced hot flash intensity by 58%
- Reduced hot flash frequency by 50%
- Reduced overall menopausal symptoms by 49%
- Improved menopause-specific quality of life by 26%

Participants also reported a 27% reduction in stress, a 58% improvement in mood, and a 32% improvement in sleep quality, reflecting benefits across both the physical and emotional aspects of the menopausal transition. Significant improvements were observed as early as week two, supporting the ingredient's fast-acting profile. Aspargize was well tolerated, with no serious adverse events reported. Shatavari, the root of Asparagus racemosus, has a long history of use in Ayurveda to support women's health. Aspargize is standardised to NLT 5% Shatavarin IV by HPLC method, bringing consistency and clinical validation to this traditional botanical at a time when demand for evidence-based, non-hormonal menopause support continues to grow.
At Ennature Biopharma, our mission is to build science-backed solutions that support women at every stage of life. Midlife is a stage that has too often been overlooked, and this study is an important milestone in that journey. Seeing Aspargize deliver meaningful improvements across such a broad range of menopausal symptoms gives us great confidence in the role evidence-based botanicals can play in helping women navigate this transition with greater comfort and confidence.
