Last month, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) made several announcements about regulatory changes.

FDA takes several actions regarding the Food Traceability Rule

In the US, the FDA issued guidance addressing stakeholder questions regarding the implementation of the Food Traceability Rule in mid-February.

The Food Traceability Rule establishes additional record-keeping requirements for manufacturers, processors, packers and holders of foods on the FDA's Food Traceability List.
