The proprietary synergistic blend of ginger and Chinese chastetree could improve musculoskeletal health and joint comfort in 30 days, as well as mobility in 90 days

A novel study has found that OmniActive Heatlh Technologies' proprietary blend of anti-inflammatory ginger and Chinese chastetree extracts — Muvz — can improve mobility and support joint health.

OmniActive acquired the nutraceutical blend through its acquisition of ENovate Biolife in 2024.

The Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Dose-Response Trial of Muvz for Knee and Low-Back Support in Physically Active Adults assessed the efficacy of Muvz at varying doses, and was piblished in Drug Design, Development and Therapy.

During the three month study, 157 middle aged adults were given Muvz at a dose of either 200mg or 400mg (2x 200mg doses).

Notably, supplementation with both doses of the nutraceutical blend significantly enhanced subjective measures of musculoskeletal health by day 30.

Muvz also supported lower back and joint comfort and reduced feelings of discomfort post-exercise.

Through long-term supplementation, the blend also influenced range of motion and flexibility in participants by day 90.

Perceived quality of life was also bolstered in participants, suggesting that the nutraceutical blend can effectively support an older user's overall wellness, as well as their joint health.

"The global joint health market sits at over $11.5 billion, which is being propelled by younger, active consumers and athletes," said Keya Shah, Assistant Director leading OmniActive's joint health category.

"The results of this study suggest that Muvz can demonstrate significant mobility benefits in an older population, meaning we can help support consumers with various activity levels to retain mobility and improve their quality of life."

According to OmniActive, the proprietary blend works as both ginger and Chinese chastetree (Vitex negundo) are known for their analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

"We are excited to see this new publication validating the benefits of Muvz in supporting joint and low-back comfort with improved mobility, particularly for those with knee and lower back discomfort," said Abhijeet Morde, Senior Director of Invitro Biology, Animal Studies and Clinicals at OmniActive.

"The results align with previous studies, further reinforcing Muvz as a natural, ingredient solution for supporting mobility through joint and low-back comfort support as well as flexibility in physically active individuals."
