Spectrums Europe has launched Optimaceuticals, a range of phytocannabinoids for the nutraceutical and beauty markets.

The company says the range is born from a “committed will to offer phytocannabinoids whose quality criteria are stated in full transparency,” answering many of the questions that typically arise in CBD ingredient development.

Optimaceuticals ingredients are characterised by their purity level, the company claims, with high concentrations of active ingredients, an absence of THC measured up to 2 decimal places (0.00%) and an absence of impurities guaranteed on 10 control points.

Obtained from industrial hemp organically grown in the United States, the ingredients are reportedly Cosmos, Natrue and Vegan Society certified.

For reliability and usability, the company has developed different grades of the ingredients for the beauty and nutrition markets. The XB grades, for beauty applications, have undergone in vitro and in vivo evaluations to support product claims. The nutrition-focused grades, designated XN, have had novel food applications declared valid by the European authorities in February 2022.

CBG, or cannabigerol, is the parent molecule of all phytocannabinoids. A series of in vitro tests have shown Optima CBG’s capability to modulate sebum production and the inflammatory response.
