Trpti OEA (oleoylethanolamide) is a fatty acid ethanolamide designed to support weight management and metabolic health

Gencor is excited to announce the latest addition to its ingredient portfolio, oleoylethanolamide (OAE), branded as Trpti, to support healthy weight management and metabolic health. OEA is a fatty acid ethanolamide produced by the intestine in response to ingesting food. OEA has been described as a signalling molecule involved in activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-α), which in turn helps promote lipolysis (the breakdown of fat) and curb food intake.

Additionally, OEA stimulates the release of GLP-1 via a G protein-coupled receptor-dependent mechanism (GPR119), further aiding in reducing food intake. These various mechanisms contribute to the promising benefits of OEA for weight management and metabolic health.

“We are thrilled to bring Trpti to market; it’s a first-of-its-kind ingredient with a unique mechanism of action, especially regarding its stimulation of GLP-1 through G protein-coupled receptors,” said Ramasamy Venkatesh, co-founder & managing director of Gencor. “We are researching multiple doses to understand the potential dose-response effect; so far, our studies at a dosage of 300 mg per day have demonstrated significant success in supporting healthy weight management.”

Traditional OEA supplements are broken down by the enzyme FAAH before reaching the gut, limiting their effectiveness. In contrast, Trpti is powered by LipiSperse technology, which helps preserve OEA. This award-winning technology efficiently delivers OEA to the intestine to help achieve its benefits. It also allows Trpti to be formulated into various formats, including dietary supplements, food, and beverages.
