Saanroo has announced that its Levagen+ ingredient has won two 2026 NutraIngredients Awards.
The palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) ingredient received the NutraIngredients USA Innovation in Women’s Health Award and, in May 2026, was named Ingredient of the Year: Healthspan at the NutraIngredients Europe Awards.
Winners are selected by an independent panel of industry experts based on scientific excellence, innovation, commercial relevance and demonstrated impact.
Levagen+ is a bioavailable form of PEA, a natural lipid that supports healthy inflammation and cellular function.
The ingredient uses Pharmako Biotechnologies’ patented LipiSperse technology, which enhances dispersion and bioavailability, allowing for optimised ingredient performance in various formats.
Levagen+ has also been studied in more than 18 published human clinical trials. These studies have explored its benefits across a wide range of health applications, including healthy ageing, joint comfort and sleep quality.
The firm said that the awards highlighted the ingredient's growing body of "clinical evidence and versatility across multiple health applications."
"These awards are especially meaningful because they recognise the quality of the science behind Levagen+," said Maggie McNamara, Vice President of Global Marketing at Saanroo.
She added that the two awards validated the firm's "long-term commitment to scientific innovation."
From the beginning, Saanroo’s goal has been to develop ingredients backed by rigorous human clinical research that deliver on their health benefits.
"Consumers and brands alike are seeking ingredients backed by meaningful science," said John Quilter, CEO.
"Levagen+ reflects that shift by combining innovative delivery technology with a robust and expanding body of human clinical research."
These awards recognise not only what the ingredient has achieved today but also its continued potential to support future product innovation.
