Omyanutra 300 DC and 300 Flash are designed to help manufacturers make hard tablets at low compression forces

Omya is exhibiting at this year’s SupplySide West, presenting its Omyanutra 300 DC and Omyanutra 300 Flash for nutraceutical solid dosage forms. Based on the company’s proprietary functionalised calcium carbonate technology, 300 DC is a directly compressible version of Omyanutra 300 which the company claims enables excellent tablet compactability and free-flowing granules. Omyanutra 300 Flash contains what the company describes as a superdisintegrant and is suitable for manufacturers of orally and fast-disintegrating tablets.

Both ingredients are free from nanoparticles and GMOs, and made of a natural mineral material, Omya says. In addition to its mineral ingredients, the company will highlight a range of specialties from its US distribution portfolio, such as Berriotics, DNA-certified botanical extracts and a novel kombucha powder.

Omyanutra 300 DC and 300 Flash are designed to help manufacturers make hard tablets at low compression forces. The excipients provide fast disintegration owing to their particles’ porous structure, which also enables the safe carrying and release of active ingredients. As it contains a superdisintegrant, Omyanutra 300 Flash is designed for tablet manufacturers looking for an all-in-one solution. It provides disintegration in orally and fast disintegrating tablets (ODTs/FDTs) regardless of the tablet hardness, the company says.

Omya will also be presenting specialty ingredients for nutraceuticals and functional foods, including its recently launched kombucha powder to serves the growing market for fermented foods and drinks. InstaKOMBU is a spray-dried, fermented kombucha powder from small-leaf black tea, suitable for applications in tablets, capsules, sachets and powder mixes.

The company will discuss Berriotics, another fermented powder in its distribution portfolio comprising ten kinds of berries. The ingredient, designed to support a healthy microbiome, can be used in beverages, powder drink mixes, nutritional bars and yoghurts.
