Lödige Process Technology has developed a granulator designed for compacting bulk goods such as tea or cocoa and coffee. It’s based on the company’s MGT mixing granulator, a vertical system for powders and granules.
A compaction tool rotates in the cylindrical vessel at close distance from the wall and base to achieve the necessary bulk density and a homogeneous quality. The vessel is equipped with a cooling double jacket designed to ensure the full aroma of the material is retained. The product can additionally be flavoured directly in the processing vessel, the company says.
This process can be carried out manually or automatically. The machine requires three minutes to mix and compress, for instance, one batch of ground coffee. Product changes are also quick and simple, the company claims.
The machine is designed for quick, manual dry cleaning.
The system is designed to fit seamlessly into the production line. The company can supply complete production lines from mixing/compacting equipment to container handling, screw conveyors, weighing systems, storage containers as well as the control system.
