Pectins are versatile biopolymers found in the cell walls of all vascular plants. They are manufactured from citrus peels remaining in the production of essentials oils and juices and are traditionally used for their gel-forming, thickening, and stabilising properties. As a sustainable, naturally sourced, clean label product, Pectins can be used in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products such as gummies. Pectins can also be used as a vegan alternative to gelatin.
VIVAPHARM Pectins are produced in JRS Silvateam Ingredients’ state of the art facility, located in Rende, Italy. VIVAPHARM Pectins are made from locally sourced fresh citrus peels, with additional dried peels imported to ensure supply security. JRS Silvateam Ingredients is a joint venture between the Italian group Silvateam Spa and the German JRS Group.
