The brand showcased its next-generation, high-strength omega-3 at the tradeshow, with the ingredient hitting 90% omega-3 content per gram

The omega-3 leader GC Rieber VivoMega debuted its new 90% TG Premium fish oil at this year's Vitafoods Europe tradeshow.

The ingredient is a next-generation, highly potent omega-3, designed to enable supplement brands to formulate more efficient, high-strength products, while reducing capsule size and enhancing formulation flexibility.

The brand said that the premium fish oil delivers exceptional concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids, featuring 520 mg EPA and 310 mg DHA per gram, for a total omega-3 content of 900 mg/g (90%).

"We see a demand from supplement brands that want to deliver higher potency products without compromising user experience," said Ståle Søfting, Chief Commercial Officer.

With VivoMega 90% TG Premium fish oil, produced in natural triglyceride (TG) form for optimal bioavailability and absorption, we enable a more potent and pure omega-3 in less space, helping brands achieve high efficacy while maintaining excellent sensory profiles and smaller, easier-to-swallow capsules.

The ingredient is part of the VivoMega premium portfolio and so meets and exceeds international quality and purity standards. It can be included in a wide range of applications, including softgels, capsules and functional formats.

Speaking to Nutraceutical Business Review, Merethe Thomassen, Communications and Marketing Manager, reflected on the industry appetite for the launch: "Many of the conversations at Vitafoods centred around how brands can create more differentiated omega-3 products and respond to evolving consumer expectations around convenience and performance."

The level of interest confirmed that the market is actively looking for new ways to deliver premium omega-3 offerings.
