Elysium Health launches Creatine+ combining creatine, HMB and urolithin A precursors for longevity

The Stanford-advised 3-in-1 formulation targets age-related muscle decline, mitochondrial health and cognition, positioning creatine beyond sports performance and into the mainstream healthy ageing supplement market

Elysium Health has launched  CREATINE+, a new three-in-one creatine system formulated specifically for longevity that is designed to support strength, recovery and cognition.

The product was formulated with advice from Stanford University, with Dr Michael Fredericson, co-director of the Stanford Center on Longevity, Professor and Director of PM&R Sports Medicine at Stanford University and Elysium Scientific Advisory Board member overseeing its development.

Creatine+ combines three scientifically validated ingredients — creatine monohydrate, HMB (β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate) and pomegranate polyphenols standardised to urolithin A precursors — that address multiple biological pathways involved in overall long-term health, including age-related muscle decline, physical function and cognition.

Creatine has long been recognised as one of the most studied and effective supplements for enhancing muscle performance.

Recently, however, it has gained broader recognition beyond just athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

Research is increasingly emphasising the importance of muscle health for healthy ageing, mobility and longevity.

By the age of 80, an individual's muscle mass typically decreases by about 30%, strength by 40% and power by 50%.

Elysium has developed Creatine+ to address these challenges by uniquely combining ingredients that support muscle energetics, recovery, mitochondrial health and cognition — all essential for longevity and strength.

The new supplement features the following ingredients:

  • the highest purity micronised creatine monohydrate to support lean muscle, strength and cognition
  • HMB, which works synergistically with creatine to support recovery and build muscle, as well as prevent muscle loss
  • pomegranate polyphenols standardised to urolithin A precursors to support mitochondrial renewal and cellular energy production.

"Creatine has become one of my favourite supplements for supporting the maintenance of lean body mass, strength and performance as we age, especially when paired with consistent resistance training," said Dr Fredericson.

What's unique about Creatine+ is that it optimises for two critical components of athletic performance — both output and recovery.

Clinical studies indicate that combining creatine with HMB can lead to greater increases in lean muscle mass and strength compared to using creatine alone.

Thus, by pairing these ingredients with pomegranate-derived polyphenols that promote mitochondrial renewal, Elysium reasons that Creatine+ offers a more comprehensive approach to enhancing strength, recovery, cognitive function and long-term muscle vitality.

Pomegranate polyphenols act as natural precursors to urolithin A — a gut-microbiome metabolite that promotes longevity by stimulating the process that recycles and renews damaged mitochondria.

This cellular clean-up is thought to improve muscle function, reduce inflammation and boost cellular energy, though natural conversion rates vary widely from individual to individual.

"During the last several years, creatine has evolved from a supplement primarily associated with athletes and gym-goers into one of the most widely popular interventions for healthy ageing," said Elysium CEO Eric Marcotulli.

"That shift reflects a growing recognition that muscle health is one of the most important predictors of long-term health, independence and quality of life."

At Elysium, we have always focused on translating advances in longevity science into products that help people not just age better but live better. Creatine+ is a natural extension of that mission — a scientifically rigorous formulation designed to support strength today and to help preserve physical function, resilience and cognition over the long term.
