A recent study published in Autism and Developmental Disorders has found that a combination of dsm-firmenich's synbiotics and gut hypnotherapy can manage gastrointestinal and mood-related symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

In the trial, 24 children aged between 5 and 10 were given synbiotics from dsm-firmenich's Humiome range, including L. rhamnosus GG (ATCC 53103), L. plantarum DSM 34532, B. lactis DSM 32269 and B. longum DSM 32946.

To get the scoop on this study, why synbiotics could be particularly useful for those on the spectrum and the power of synergy in gut health, NBR spoke with Dr Robert E. Steinert, Principal Scientist at dsm-firmenich.
