Clasado Biosciences, a developer of prebiotic ingredients and products for the human gut microbiome, has appointed Cathy Erwin as Head of E-Commerce.
Erwin will be responsible for guiding the ongoing development of the company’s Bimuno online store. The platform also hosts resources, articles and blogs that offer digestive health insight to consumers and healthcare professionals, making it a key part of the brand’s strategic positioning.
Per Rehné, CEO at Clasado, said: “As a leading name in prebiotics, we’re always looking to refine our long-term commercial direction. Bimuno is truly getting into its stride on the world’s stage, and it’s important that our digital platforms shift and evolve to keep pace with that growth.
“Cathy has a great deal of experience in driving digital brand & on-line strategy in the health and nutrition category, most recently at businesses such as Symprove and Sanofi. Around the globe, prebiotic fibre is connecting with consumers looking to support better gut health. We are notably seeing increased attention on prebiotic supplements, as well as exciting and fast-paced innovation in areas such as functional foods, beverages and sports supplements.”
Since April, the company’s personnel appointments include Dr Frederic Narbel, VP of Sales B2B, Doug King, Senior Sales Manager North America, Ian James, Finance Manager, Darren Lister, Logistics Controller and Bronwen Roberts, Quality Coordinator.
Erwin said: “I’m delighted to join the Clasado team and help further propel the business forward during this exciting time of growth. There is huge global appetite for prebiotics - consumers are looking to learn more about the gut microbiome and the important role of ‘good’ gut bacteria in supporting overall health and wellbeing, which puts Clasado in a very strong position as the developer of the most studied prebiotic ingredient of its kind.”
