BASF has announced the launch of two cosmetic actives, NeoHelix Regenerate and SkinNexus Collag3n, debuting the pair at this year's in-cosmetics Global in Paris.
The new NeoHelix Regenerate is a high-performance precision peptide that enhances the skin's natural self-repair mechanisms, promoting adaptive collagen renewal.
NeoHelix Regenerate is the first product resulting from BASF's innovation partnership with the US-based start-up 3Helix.
This collaboration focuses on personal care innovations inspired by the proprietary CHP technology. This technology utilises short, single-stranded collagen-like peptides that provide significant anti-ageing benefits.
The other new ingredient, SkinNexus Collag3n, "redefines collagen banking" with a bio-identical Collagen III fragment.
Consumer interest in proactive collagen banking to support healthy skin has been growing. Produced through biotechnology via vegan yeast fermentation, the new ingredient stands apart from traditional collagen offerings through its 100% human-identical sequence and biomimetic effects that support the skin's extracellular matrix.
This ingredient leverages Bota Biosciences' advanced bioengineering, a global leader in physical AI-driven biomanufacturing. Their SAION AI Platform enables end-to-end experimental design and execution and continuously optimises biological discovery and biomanufacturing processes.
"Both ingredients are impressive examples of the innovative power that strong partnerships can unleash," said Lucilene Veira Nunes, Business Management, BASF Beauty Care Solutions.
By working with the skin's own biology, we are moving from traditional collagen-support claims to more advanced renewal and preservation across multiple levels.
Collagen is the most abundant protein found in the skin, providing a supportive structure that helps maintain its integrity.
As we age, collagen levels naturally decrease, but BASF states that it has developed innovative strategies to support and preserve this crucial structural element.
The company invites visitors to in-cosmetics Global to its booth to explore a unique installation showcasing its latest advancements in collagen research.
