Aymes International has launched a flavour of ActaGain 2.4 Complete Maxi, a one-a-day oral nutritional supplement designed for the dietary management of patients with, or at risk of, disease-related malnutrition.
ActaGain 2.4 Complete Maxi is nutritionally complete in 3 servings, contains 480 calories and 19.2 grams of protein and is available in strawberry, vanilla and now banana flavour.
Claire James, Head of Nutrition & Regulatory Affairs at Aymes said: "Adding banana flavour to the Aymes ActaGain 2.4 Complete Maxi range is a great innovation for patients, allowing them more choice and flexibility when taking their supplement. At Aymes we want to make it as appealing and straightforward as possible for patients to take their nutritional support, so in addition to adding this new flavour we have created a dosage cup, allowing patients to measure this one-a-day supplement into smaller doses. By providing smaller doses, the cup could improve patient's compliance, preventing prescription wastage and ultimately helping the patient's nutritional status improve."
Its available in a single bottle format which the company says may improve compliance reducing waste.
Malnutrition costs the NHS around £23.5 billion per year. Aymes says it’s dedicated to providing healthcare professionals with high quality medical nutrition cost-effectively, allowing them to support patients whilst reducing cost to the NHS.
