Arla Foods Ingredients moves into the Chilean market with MasterSense collab expansion

Published: 4-Jun-2025

Following the success of the companies' collaboration in Mexico, MasterSense will distribute Arla's active nutrition and food & beverage products across Chile

Functional food ingredient specialist Arla Foods Ingredients has extended its distribution partnership with MasterSense.

Through this collaboration expansion, the company will bring its nutrition solutions to the Chilean market.

This follows Arla Foods Ingredients' other global expansion efforts, which have put the company on the map in Oceania and Southeast Asia, as well as further establishing its presence in the UK with its acquisition of Volac Whey Nutrition.

The new distribution agreement expands on the company's original deal from 2024, which brought Arla's ingredients to the Mexican market.

Under the terms of the agreement, MasterSense will be responsible for the distribution of Arla Foods Ingredients' performance nutrition products, including sports nutrition and health ingredients, as well as suppplements.

The Latin American company will also deal with the distribution of dairy, bakery, bevearges and food service products.

A recent Arla Foods Ingredients survey of 1000 Chilean consumers found that great taste, convenience, natural ingredients and high-protein content were their most important considerations when purchasing food.

Meanwhile, 25% of participants considered "whey protein" an attractive ingredient, with the cohort naming yoghurts, dairy beverages, bread and juice as popular high-protein food and beverage products.

“As a global leader in improving premium nutrition, we are hugely excited about this new opportunity to co-operate even further with MasterSense. There’s a high level of innovation in the Chilean food and beverage industry and it’s one of our top three markets in the region. This agreement will help us strengthen our footprint and support to Chilean producers," noted Vinicius Morais, Head of Sales – South America at Arla Foods Ingredients.

“We are proud to take another step forward with Arla Foods Ingredients. This partnership is a testament to our belief that the future of food lies in innovation, functionality and consumer health," added Gustavo Assis, President of MasterSense.

"Chile has proven to be a forward-thinking market, and we are confident this collaboration will bring real value to local manufacturers and, ultimately, to consumers,” he concluded.
