Microalgae specialist Algosource has revealed it has created a new nutraceutical formula to counteract joint pain.
The company’s solution is born out of a combination of two clinically proven marine ingredients: type II collagen hydrolysates and low-sodium marine magnesium.
Low-sodium Marine Magnesium comes from residual seawater from the salt marches of Guérande in France, where salt is harvested during the summer season. The waters are concentrated in minerals and trace elements, including the company’s marine magnesium.
Algosource then filters and carries out an exclusive desalination process that significantly reduces their sodium content. This process, carried out without synthetic solvents or chemical and thermal treatments, makes it the only marine magnesium compatible with salt-free diets.
Low-sodium marine magnesium is exceptionally bioavailable as it is maintained in its original liquid form and in ionic form (Mg2+), providing the body with direct access to assimilable molecules.
Type II Marine Collagen Hydrolysates are obtained through a hydrolysis process that separates large and complex molecules, such as long collagen chains, into smaller components with low molecular weight: collagen peptides and glycosaminoglycans. These components significantly contribute to reducing joint pain and inflammation and slowing down the development of osteoarthritis.
Algosource carried out a clinical trial conducted with 33 individuals aged 42 to 78 years with joint discomfort. A 38% reduction in joint discomfort was observed after one month of treatment, and a 50% reduction after three months.
