The company will be displaying its range of fat and oil solutions including AkoVeg, a blend of coconut and oleic sunflower oils designed to mimic dairy fat in plant-based cheeses

AAK is currently exhibiting its range of fat and oil solutions for functional food and beverages at this year's SupplySide West expo.

The ingredient supplier has developed a range of fat and oils designed to help food manufacturers make better tasting, healthier and more sustainable foods.

At booth #2145, the company will be exhibiting its plant-based cream cheese and bagel bites.

Made with AkoVeg — a blend of coconut and high oleic sunflower oils — this plant-based cream cheese emanates the flavour of a dairy cream cheese while also having a desirable mothfeel.

The product contains 66% saturated fat, which matches traditional milk fat, though it is lower in saturated fat than 100% coconut oil solutions which are often used.

AAK has also developed product that lend themselves to label claims such as sustainably sourced, non-GMO and plant-based.

The company's product range aim to address a wide range of product and formulation challenges commonly associated with plant-based functional foods, including mouthfeel and flavour.

AAK North America's VP of Go-to-Market, Joe Campbell, commented: “As consumers seek out fresher food products that provide better quality with sustainable choices,
manufacturers need to consider the impact on their formulations,”

“Key ingredients such as fats and oils play a crucial role in delivering great taste, mouthfeel and nutritional profiles that will keep consumers coming back for more. AAK’s creative fat and oil solutions are sustainable, with a special emphasis on high-purity oil with low contaminants, to ensure overall quality. At AAK, we work with our customers to co-develop formulations to deliver products that taste amazing, perform effectively and meet the evolving needs of today’s consumer.”
