Ingredient specialist Specnova has revealed several of its branded ingredients have received non-GMO project verified status.
Among the company’s portfolio that have achieved this regulatory certification are the NooGandha ashwagandha extract, MitoHeal redcurrant and blackcurrant extract, NordicCherry tart cherry extract and AlphaFen fenugreek extract.
Speaking on the news, Specnova’s CEO Sebastian Balcombe said: “Our unique delivery system technologies and multistage validation ensure superior ingredients that improve and protect human health—enhancing nature’s potency and ensuring the consumer receives optimal benefits.”

In a statement, Specnova described NooGandha as having a “higher total withanolide levels via validated USP-HPLC method than competitors’ at 3.5%-4% total ashwagandha withanolides. MitoHeal is designed for beauty-from-within products, with clinical research showing it can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve facial brown spots, improve skin coarseness, support a healthy stress response, and support a healthy mood and quality of sleep."
NordicCherry is described as “the world’s most bioactive, full-spectrum, whole-fruit tart cherry extract” and is designed to support muscle and joint health.
Balcombe said: “NordicCherry offers an industry-leading concentration of active polyphenol compounds that is 4 to 40 times greater than the leading tart cherry powder.”
AlphaFen is a novel fenugreek seed extract produced using Specnova’s proprietary production technologies in order to retain the richness of bioactive sapogenins and saponins. Clinical studies show the ability to support male sexual health; hormone balance, including testosterone and oestrogen and strength, mood, and sleep.
