Schenck Process becomes Coperion following acquisition by Hillenbrand

The strategic move brings businesses with a number of capabilities in the food and process industries together

The former Schenck Process Food and Performance Materials (FPM) group of companies has changed their umbrella name to Coperion.

This follows the acquisition of the companies by Hillenbrand — the group’s parent company — in September 2023.

The Coperion companies offer a broad range of solutions, services and technologies across the health, nutrition and food markets, as well as performance materials such as plastics, chemicals, batteries and minerals.

Coperion brings together a number of brands, including:

  • Raymond Bartlett Snow
  • Baker Perkins
  • Kemutec
  • Mucon

According to the conglomerate, customers will still receive hands-on service and support, which includes access to test centres globally.

“We believe that the new Coperion is already having a positive impact on our company, as well as our customers,” said Matthew Craig, General Manager, FPM. “Bringing all technologies under the Coperion name signals a deeper integration that means we are better equipped than ever to deliver the
high-quality solutions, technologies and service we’ve always been known for.”

The migration of the former Schenck Process FPM began in May 2023 when it spun off from the German-based Schenck Process Group—which has since been rebranded as Qlar in a parallel, but unrelated, process.

Along with the name change, the website has moved to coperion.com/fpm.

All emails, including those for employees from the technology brands of Baker Perkins and Kemutec have changed to @coperion.com.
