Orgenetics, a plant-based nutraceuticals provider, has reformulated its range of plant-based magnesium ingredients for use in dietary supplements.
OrGen-Mg, an organic pumpkin extract, and RGen-Mg, a non-GMO pumpkin ingredient, have now been altered to ensure global regulatory compliance.
According to Orgenetics, the nutraceutical ingredients retain co-factors and co-nutrients associated with the pumpkin, providing health benefits above those associated with magnesium.
A SPINS article notes the significant rise in magnesium supplement sales, increasing by 44.5% between May 2022 to May 2023.1
"Our reformulated Orgen-Mg and RGen-Mg are extracted from a botanical that has broader worldwide compatibility, representing a significant leap forward for our growing and globalised customer base," said Orgenetics' SVP of Business Development, Saumil Maheshvari. “This reformulation was made with scalable sustainability at the heart of it, as the popularity and relative ease of growing pumpkin allows us to further streamline our sourcing and supply chains.”
The reformulated non-GMO version, Orgen-Mg, will be available in September, whereas the organic version (RGen-Mg) will be ready for purchase in early 2025.
