Dichrostachys glomerata extract can support metabolic and cognitive health, study finds

Somnoril can help users to manage their weight naturally, while promoting a healthy metabolism and improving their sleep quality

A clinical study has found that Gateway Health Alliances' Somnoril can positively impact a user's mental health, while also supporting their metabolic health.

This publication is the second paper from a study of the Dichrostachys glomerata ingredient, which can be found in the Journal of Dietary Supplements.

The latest findings revolve around the nutraceutical's ability to support a user in managing their weight, while also improving their overall quality of life. 

To delve further into the potential benefits of the functional ingredient, researchers at Jacksonville University looked at the impact of daily supplementation with Somnoril in mildly obese adults.

The 60 day study revealed that

  • Participants taking Somnoril lost an average of 1.92lb (0.87kg) more than those in the placebo group
  • Volunteers experienced a reduction in food cravings, as determined by the self-reported food cravings questionnaire that was distributed to study contributors
  • Somnoril could improve mood and reduce stress
  • The nutraceutical could enhance a user's quality of life, while also experiencing a reduction in daily distruptions due to health-related issues

 

Somnoril's cognitive health-boosting capabilities 

The initial paper written in this series found that Somnoril could improve a user's sleep quality, while also enhancing metabolic wellness.

It was also found that the functional ingredient could promote healthy weight loss at a dose of 300mg daily.

Through supplementation with the Dichrostachys glomerata nutraceutical, participants experienced faster sleep onset, while also being able to sleep for longer and wake up more rested. 

Following this clinical study, there are six peer-reviewed trials involving more than 600 participants that demonstrate the efficacy of Dichrostachys glomerata in managing body weight, optimising the body's metabolism and improving sleep quality.

The nutraceutical functions by modulating key hormones, including GLP-1, insulin, leptin and adiponectin — whille also reducing oxidative stress.
