Everwell Health has acquired nutraceutical ingredient manufacturer, American River Nutriton (ARN).

Based in Hadley, Massachusetts, ARN harnesses the health benefits of Bixa orellana, a botanical rich in antioxidant tocotrienols which is commonly known as annatto.

The company achieves this through a specialised distillation process, which concentrates key bioactives without the use of solvents and harsh chemicals.

Through the acquisition, Everwell Health will acquire ARN's range of patented and branded ingredients — which include DeltaGold and GG-Gold.

  • DeltaGold: The only tocopherol-free source of tocotrienols that act as strong antioxidants
  • GG-Gold: An endogenous nutrient that declines in levels during the ageing process. Geranylgeraniol is essential for protein synthesis, as well as the production of key hormones like testosterone and progesterone, as well as Coenzyme Q10, and vitamin K2 as MK-4.

Everwell Health will also gain access to ARN's other functional ingredient bar DuoQuinol, which will remain with Designs for Health.

Designs for Health has decided to hand over its stake in ARN to hone in on its core focus of clinical nutrition.

Operations at ARN's Hadley site will continue as normal, though Everwell Health plans to invest in the facility, using it as a primary Innovation Centre within the US.

Throughout 2025, ARN will operate as "American River Nutrition, an Everwell Health Company", though the company will integrate into Everwell's portfolio of brands in the near future.

During this transition, ARN's customers will also have access to Everwell Health's portfolio of services, ingredients and expertise.

"Our acquisition of American River Nutrition will help us to support consumers in their efforts to live life to their fullest potential," noted Steve Rosenman, CEO of Everwell Health.

"These unique, plant-based ingredients will benefit our customers releasing products in the metabolic, cardiovascular, cellular, muscular and bone health categories."

"ARN's specialised manufacturing facility will also add value to Everwell's footprint in the natural products industry," he added.

"We know ARN will thrive under Everwell's leadership, as they too are committed to science, quality and innovation," commented Amardeep Kahlon, CEO of Designs for Health.

"This move will allow us to place a stronger focus on clinical nutrition and integrative health solutions," he concluded.

Steve Rosenman, CEO of Everwell Health stated, “Our acquisition of American River Nutrition
reinforces our commitment to providing scientifically substantiated ingredients which support
consumers in living life to their fullest potential. These unique and powerful plant-based
ingredients further build upon our vision to deliver ingredients that empower all to look, feel, and
perform their best. Our customers will benefit from new opportunities that our expanded
ingredient portfolio delivers to innovate new products in key health areas including metabolic,
cardiovascular, mitochondrial, men’s health, muscle, and bone health. Beyond the ingredient
portfolio, the vertical integration of ARN’s highly specialized manufacturing facility adds value
and strengthens our capabilities as we will continue investing in nature-based bioactive
ingredients.”

Amardeep Kahlon, CEO of Designs for Health shared, “Everwell Health shares our commitment
to science, quality, and innovation, and we know ARN will thrive under Everwell's leadership.
This move positions Designs for Health to further deliver on our core mission of advancing
clinical nutrition and integrative health solutions through healthcare practitioners with our core
Designs for Health products."
