Elevant, a subsidiary of Swiss biotech Seneque working on cellular longevity technology, has launched Optima NMN-C, a chewable tablet designed to boost brain and body health. The supplement supports energy and focus, memory and cognition, mood balance, and quality of sleep, the company says. Unlike vitamins, the product reportedly works directly within cells, which Elevant says promotes sustained energy and better health, for longer.
Formulated through the company's longevity research, the supplement boosts NAD+, which supports bodywide health, energy and healthy ageing.
The product is designed to be paired with the company’s Prime capsules, launched in early 2021. The two supplements work in harmony with natural NAD+ cycles, the company claims, to spark cellular energy used in processes throughout body and brain to thrive. The range is aimed at consumers in their 30s and 40s seeking to boost energy, mood, focus, and balance, as well as those in their 50s and beyond who want to support immunity, promote healthy ageing, and get a better quality of sleep.
Elevant supplements were developed based on findings from cellular research which reportedly showed the ability of NMN, a naturally occurring molecule, to function as an NAD+ booster.
Dr Alessia Grozio, Chief Scientist at Seneque: “Taking Prime every morning and Optima during the day helps me boost my physical and mental energy and amplify my productivity throughout the entire day. These NAD+ boosters exemplify how Elevant is transforming the latest scientific discoveries into accessible daily health and wellbeing products.”
Dr Eric Verdin, President of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging: “Our bodies can’t get enough NMN from diet to counter the huge drops in NAD+ caused by ageing and common daily stressors like exercise, sun exposure, poor sleep, and alcohol consumption. We have to get the extra NMN we need to create energy and keep our body and brain functioning optimally through scientifically crafted NMN supplements like Prime and Optima. A complimentary daily health routine that targets both body and mind is a highly effective way for people to sustain good health over a lifetime.”
The product acquired self-GRAS (generally recognised as safe) status in accordance with FDA regulatory guidelines in November 2020. In early 2021, the company published the results of a recent OECD 408 toxicology study on NMN-C, providing increased transparency.
