Swiss speciality chemical company Clariant has announced the launch of its new continuous strip desiccant packet reels, expanding its moisture protection portfolio in the Americas.
The expanded product line, which includes Desi Pak, Sorb-It and Tri-Sorb Strips, features desiccant packets manufactured in a continuous strip format, wound onto reels for integration with automated insertion equipment on high-speed packaging lines.
The firm says the new line will enhance customer efficiency while maintaining superior moisture control.

Compatible with existing desiccant insertion equipment, the new strips will help reduce inventory complexity and setup time, allowing manufacturers to streamline operations without costly equipment modifications.
The expanded product line features the following three desiccant chemistries to address varying moisture-protection requirements:
- Desi Pak Strips utilise naturally occurring, responsibly mined bentonite clay for broad-spectrum, cost-effective moisture control
- Sorb-It Strips use silica gel for applications that require precise high-humidity control
- Tri-Sorb Strips incorporate molecular sieve technology for the most demanding moisture protection needs.
All three options are available in packet sizes ranging from ½ gram to five grams, providing flexibility across diverse product categories and packaging configurations.

The company added that "quality assurance remains paramount" in its manufacturing approach and is implementing AI-based inspection systems to help ensure consistent packet integrity and uniformity across every reel.
These new systems will be rolled out beginning with its Americas manufacturing operations.

Clariant also offers Desi Pak ECO Strips, which use the same responsibly mined, eco-friendly natural bentonite clay desiccant as standard Desi Pak Strips.
Desi Pak ECO Strips feature plastic-free, bio-based continuous strip packets made from sustainably grown raw materials, utilising non-toxic, water-based ink and adhesive.
The company added that this comprehensive sustainability approach enables manufacturers to advance their environmental goals without compromising moisture protection performance.
