NutriLeads, a nutraceutical ingredients provider, has received the “2024 Ingredient of the Year: Microbiome Modulation” award at this year’s NutraIngredients-USA Awards ceremony for its precision prebiotic, Benicaros.
Benicaros is a plant-based functional ingredient which can be incorporated into foods, beverages and dietary supplements with immune and gut health benefits.
The clinically proven prebiotic is extracted from carrots, and it can encourage the presence of beneficial gut microbes and their production of good metabolites which can benefit overall health.
Benicaros, according to NutriLeads, can also train the innate immune system to respond faster and stronger when challenged.

The upcycled story combined with solid scientific substantiation for the ingredient’s gut and immune benefits at low doses made this a very strong entry in a very competitive category.”
