A novel clinical study published in Beneficial Microbes has found that daily supplementation with Verb Biotics' LP815, a GABA-producing probiotic strain, can quell anxiety in adults with mild to moderate symptoms.1

This follows the results of a consumer survey conducted by the company, which found that 85% of adults consider the connection between the microbiome and the brain to be important in overall health.

Previous studies have revealed that the probiotic strain works in synergy with GABA-producing gut microbes to increase overall levels of the neurotransmitter — which is commonly associated with the slowing of neural activity, as well as a calming effect.

To find out more about the study, the molecular mechanisms by which LP815 exhibits its effects, Verb Biotics' further studies on LP815 in sleep health and the power of the gut-brain axis, we caught up with Mark Koenigsknecht, the company's Director of Research.
