Clean label ingredients specialist Ulrick & Short has significantly expanded its R&D and Technical Sales departments in a drive to provide even better levels of technical support, and to develop further their range of functional ingredients. The additions come off the back of rapid growth, which has seen consecutive years of record sales, a site expansion to the UK headquarters, and the establishment of a new subsidiary in the Netherlands. The Dutch subsidiary, Ulrick & Short BV, will act as the company’s EU base, and has been established to both ensure the continuity of service to European customers post Brexit, and to cater for expanding international trade.
The latest additions to the team include:
Andy Griffiths - Technical Field Support (Southern England) - providing on site technical expertise. Andy’s specialisms include culinary and experimental innovation in meats, sauces and meat substitute applications.
Lucy Mulligan - Business Development (Scotland and Northern England) - providing commercial and technical support. Lucy has a technical food science background, and over a decades’ experience in the field.
Tobias Powell - R&D Technologist - developing new concepts and technologies in the R&D kitchen. Toby joins Ulrick & Short with over 20 years expertise, his culinary & food science background includes work in the savoury marinades & sauces sector, working from concept development through to factory production.
With a broad range of culinary and technical specialisms including: meats, sauces and vegan applications, the new team members bring with them decades of knowledge and experience. This promises to reinforce the current level of customer technical support, both on a concept and practical level.
Director, Adrian Short, said, "These new appointees don't just provide additional boots on the ground for our customers, their wealth and breadth of knowledge will also build upon our existing knowledge base, and provide a different perspective to our solutions. They have already made significant contributions, and I’m sure our customers are beginning to see the benefit of their expertise."
He added, "Ulrick & Short has always distinguished itself from the competition through it’s customer service, and the availability of technical support to customers. We’re very hands on, and if required, we’ll hold customers hands from concepts in the kitchen, right through to manufacturing in the factory".
