The SHI focuses on sustainability in the nutraceutical industry with the 4th edition of the 'Learning Lab'

Published: 10-Jan-2025

This four session initiative aims to inform botanical ingredients companies on how best to source natural ingredients with sustainability in mind

The Sustainable Herbs Initiative (SHI) will host its 4th Learning Lab on sustainability in the botanical industry, with the four session-strong initiative including topics such as:

  • How medicinal plant sourcing can enhance global wellbeing
  • How the industry can cultivate true respect for plants, people and the planet
  • The systemic changes necessary to promote sustainability in the industry
  • How brands can collaborate to drive meaningful change

The four two hour sessions will commence on January 30, 2025, and will continue throughout February, with each installment airing from 11am ET.

Other dates include February 6, 20 and 27th.

The 2025 series will build on the in-person gatherings the SHI has ran in previous Learning Labs, with the structure deepening the work of previous SHP Learning Labs.

The series will be facilitated by SHI Director Ann Armbrecht and Julie Arts, a senior faculty member and consultant with the Presencing Institute.

Ann and Julie will share case studies — especially examples from ongoing SHI Working Group initiatives — to illustrate these ideas in practice and identify tools to help implement these ideas in new initiatives to be undertaken individually and collaboratively.

Participation is free for active SHI Supporters, members and participants from the Global South, and $300 for non-members. Some full and partial scholarships are available.
