SourceOne Global Partners launches LysOmega for longevity and cognitive health

LPC-rich omega-3 formulation uses the clinically proven VESIsorb system to improve absorption and target DHA and EPA delivery to the brain and retina

SourceOne Global Partners has launched LysOmega, a proprietary formulation designed to increase DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) levels in the brain and other vital organs via the MFSD2A transporter.

Developed for 4 years, it addresses the difficulty omega-3 fatty acids face when crossing the blood–brain and blood–retina barriers.

“We have long understood the value of omega-3s. Emerging science suggests how they reach key organs, including the brain, may matter as much as the amount consumed,” said Jesse Lopez, CEO and founder of SourceOne Global Partners.

  • LysOmega combines fish oil-derived DHA and EPA with phospholipids, lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) and VESIsorb.
  • VESIsorb, a Swiss-developed system used commercially for more than 35 years, increased plasma omega-3 exposure by up to 26-fold in a pharmaceutical pharmacokinetic study.
  • Previous research suggests VESIsorb may raise plasma LPC-DHA levels, increasing its concentration at the MFSD2A transporter and potentially DHA-enriched phospholipids in the central nervous system.

“Using VESIsorb to support omega-3 delivery from the intestine to the blood and then to the MFSD2A transporter gives brand partners a differentiated platform for cognitive health, healthy ageing, eye health and reproductive health,” Lopez said.

LysOmega offers a first-to-market LPC-rich omega-3 formula compatible with a clinically proven drug-delivery system.

SourceOne and its technology partners confirmed that the VESIsorb-based formulation is reproducible and homogeneous, with droplets below 100 nm and a low polydispersity index.

The smaller droplets provide greater surface area to support absorption and bioavailability.

A human clinical trial led by omega-3 expert Michael Davidson, MD, is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

“The study will compare LysOmega with conventional omega-3 products, assessing circulating DHA and EPA levels, consistency and central nervous system availability,” Davidson said.

“It will focus particularly on APOE4 carriers, which account for roughly one in four people and have an increased risk of late-onset Alzheimer’s disease."

"Previous research suggests they may have reduced DHA delivery across the blood–brain barrier and a weaker cognitive response to supplementation.”

Available exclusively through SourceOne Global Partners, LysOmega will debut at SupplySide Global 2026 in Las Vegas.
