Seppic has unveiled a new range of speciality ingredients for pet care products, Sepifriend.
With a global pet population exceeding one billion, the pet care market is experiencing substantial growth, with an expected CAGR of 5.7% from 2022 to 2030.
This trend is being driven by the increasingly important role that pets play in households, particularly in Europe and the US.
To meet this demand, Seppic has created Sepifriend, a brand new range of speciality ingredients for pet care products.
The new line will include 11 carefully developed ingredients designed to meet formulators’ needs across pet hygiene, care and supplementation.
The range will include the following:
- foaming and solubilising agents
- rheology modifiers
- an emulsifier
- an emollient
- topical active ingredients with dermo-purifying, soothing and skin repairing functions
- a supplementation active ingredient to help address common skin and coat issues in dogs.
With an approach dedicated to pets, Seppic ensures that each Sepifriend ingredient undergoes a stringent process, including thorough chemical and toxicological assessments.
A major innovation supporting this safety commitment is the development of an innovative in vitro toxicological model on a Reconstructed Canine Epidermis (RCE).
This model demonstrates good skin tolerance of the topical ingredients, making them suitable for both leave-on and rinse-off pet care formulations.
Marine Pasquier, Pet Care Market Manager at Seppic, stated: “With Seppic’s expertise in animal health, cosmetics and nutrition, launching a range exclusively dedicated to pet care is a natural and coherent step forward."
"This new offer provides formulators with clear guidance and solutions for developing products tailored to the specific needs of companion animals.”
